Seamless Video Editing Software

Overview

CutCraft Studio was a journey into understanding user needs and crafting a video editing interface that prioritizes accessibility and intuitive design. Through research, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes, I created a seamless experience that empowers creators.

Core Highlights

Defining the Problem - Using the 5W1H framework, I identified key user pain points and needs, ensuring that every design decision addressed real user challenges.

User Research & Personas - I conducted comprehensive primary research to develop two user personas that guided the design process. These personas helped in tailoring the platform to meet the specific needs of different user groups.

Wireframes & Mood Board - Starting with low-fidelity wireframes and a mood board, I visualized the design concept and laid the foundation for a cohesive visual language. This included creating a custom logo to establish brand identity.

High-Fidelity Prototypes - The final design delivered an intuitive video editing interface, incorporating features that addressed user needs and ensured accessibility.

Accessibility Features - To make the platform inclusive, I integrated options like sufficient color contrast for users with low vision and customizable color schemes. The video player controls were designed to be user-friendly and accessible to those relying on assistive technologies.

Goals Achieved

Storyboard Playback Mode - Introduced a storyboard playback mode that visually represents the video timeline, allowing users to navigate and preview edits more efficiently.

Interactive Elements - Enabled creators to embed interactive polls, quizzes, and surveys directly into video playback, increasing engagement and gathering real-time feedback.

Accessible Design - Designed the platform with features like customizable color schemes and clearly labeled buttons to cater to users with different needs, including those with low vision or cognitive disabilities.

Playback Speed Control - Implemented playback speed control to accommodate diverse processing speeds, making the platform more user-friendly for all users.

Alternative Formats - Offered alternative formats for downloading or exporting videos to ensure compatibility with assistive technologies and specialized devices.

Future Opportunities for Improvement

Dynamic Adaptive Playback - Exploring AI algorithms that adjust playback speed, resolution, and quality based on user preferences and device capabilities.

360-Degree Video Playback - Supporting immersive video playback to create interactive and engaging experiences.

AI-Driven Scene Detection - Implementing automatic scene detection to highlight key moments in videos, streamlining the editing process.

Virtual Sets - Integrating virtual set capabilities to enable users to overlay backgrounds and enhance their video storytelling.
