Pose Perfect - VR App

Immersive Virtual 3D Avatar Pose Studio

Overview

I designed PosePerfect, a VR app that encourages physical engagement, adhering to Meta Quest’s platform guidelines. Starting with market research and competitor analysis, I developed wireframes and a custom logo to reflect the project’s vision. User feedback informed several refinements, culminating in high-fidelity wireframes presented as a comprehensive case study.

Core Highlights

Identifying the Problem - I sourced the problem statement from a Medium article and used the 5W1H framework to thoroughly understand the challenge, ensuring a user-centered approach.

Market Research & Competitive Analysis - I analyzed existing VR products to identify common features and gaps, shaping the app’s unique selling points.

Design Process - Through multiple brainstorming sessions, I defined the core goal of creating a VR app that promotes physical engagement. I ensured all designs complied with Meta Quest’s platform guidelines.

Wireframes & Logo Design - I gathered background images and references to craft low-fidelity wireframes and created a logo that encapsulates the app’s vision.

User Feedback & Iteration - Based on user feedback, I refined onboarding screens and incorporated additional features in high-fidelity wireframes to enhance the user experience.

Comprehensive Case Study - I documented the entire process, from problem identification to final designs, creating a detailed case study to showcase the project.

Goals Achieved

Universal Menu Recreation - I recreated Quest 2’s Universal Menu from scratch, as no resources were available to design the platform’s Store for displaying apps.

Onboarding Illustrations - Designed custom illustrations for onboarding screens to visually guide users through the app’s features.

Feature-Rich Interface

  • Users can change mirrors, select various poses, and customize backgrounds.

  • Options to add properties for different occasions and create mood boards.

  • Invite others to join photo sessions and sync via Bluetooth for seamless photo transfers.

Future Opportunities for Improvement

Simplified Onboarding - Adding a direct login option via Facebook would reduce the number of clicks required to access the app, enhancing user convenience.

Live Pose Guide - Implementing a live pose guide outline would help users achieve optimal poses in real time.

Lighting Customization - Introducing a feature to modify lighting settings—including natural sunlight and colored lighting—would add versatility to the photo-taking experience.

Real-Time Prompt Guide - A live prompt guide could offer users instant assistance for achieving perfect poses, complemented by a timer feature to prepare before capturing moments.

Export Options - Allowing users to export photos in various formats would ensure compatibility with other devices and platforms.

Social Media Integration - Enabling direct posting to linked social media accounts would facilitate effortless sharing of photos.

Dynamic Mirrors - Integrating dynamic, width-increasing mirrors would accommodate group shots as more users join photo sessions.

Embedded Functionality - Embedding the app within other games or social apps would allow users to take photos seamlessly while engaged in other platforms, enhancing cross-app experiences.

By focusing on these improvements, PosePerfect can continue to elevate the user experience, driving engagement and positioning itself as a standout VR app in the market.
